Noteworthy Strings is an 6 week performance class for strings players ages 12-18. In addition to playing in our traditional strings section, students will also be trained in a commercial styles from bluegrass to pop with a focus on improvisation, chart reading, and crafting fills and solos.

The group rehearse weekly from October - December, concluding with a performance in the annual Noteworthy Christmas Concert - a large scale, musical style production featuring musicians ages 8-18 and benefiting Urban Promise Nashville.​ Strings students will attend "All Cast" Rehearsals and both the matinee and evening Performances. Meet the Instructor
Marie McGlone
Nashville fiddle player Marie McGlone is a seasoned musician with 22 years of playing experience. Not only has she has performed alongside the likes of Travis Tritt, Darius Rucker, and Charles Esten, but has also played the Grand Ole Opry. Her studio work includes a chart-topping track, "Leave Tomorrow", which recently hit #1 on the UK charts. With her top tier improvisation skills and 15 years of real world experience, Marie's wheelhouse is building student's confidence to unlock their musical intuition and learn to play beyond the page.
